PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT
TOWN OF TAGHKANIC
COMMUNITY SOLAR PUBLIC INFORMATION SESSION
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that a Public Information Session will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2021 - from 10am until noon at the Taghkanic Firehouse, State Route 82, (at the corner of Route 82 and County Route 10) Taghkanic, New York, to provide information about the Town's Community Solar Initiative, which will run from Nov 15, 2021 through Jan 31, 2022. Residents may drop in at any time during the session to ask questions. A short overview of the initiative will be presented at the beginning of the session. A representative from Ampion will be there to answer your questions.
If you wish to sign up for Community Solar at the firehouse session, you will need your utility account number or a copy of a recent utility bill.
Attendees may also attend via video conference on Zoom. Access is available upon request by contacting Joyce Thompson by email.

ZONING COMMISSION
NOTICE OF PUBLIC INFORMATION MEETING
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: The Short-Term Rental Subcommittee of the Zoning Commission of the Town of Taghkanic will host a PUBLIC INFORMATION MEETING at the Taghkanic Volunteer Fire Company’s Firehouse, 631 Old State Route 82, on Saturday November 6th, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.
The Subcommittee has worked for the last 16 months on a proposal to regulate short-term rental lodgings for tourists and visitors to our town, like AirBnB rentals, with a goal of striking a reasonable balance between the rights of residents and property owners to the use of their property, and the rights of neighboring homeowners to preserve and enjoy the residential and rural character of the Town.
The draft of the proposed regulations and an Executive Summary of the Subcommittee’s work is available as a digital document on the Town Website. A printed copy of a shorter overview of the proposed regulations will also be available at the Town Hall after Nov. 2nd.
This meeting on Nov. 6th is an informal opportunity for residents and business and property owners to discuss proposed regulations with members of the Subcommittee. The Subcommittee is eager to hear from all those who are invested in this town, and to answer questions about the draft and the process of developing these regulations.
After the Public Information Meeting, the Subcommittee may amend the draft, before sending it back to the Zoning Commission. From the ZC it will go to the Town Board for review and possible further amendment. After that process, residents and property owners will have a more formal opportunity to comment on the proposed regulation when the Town Board holds a Public Hearing.

ANNUAL ELECTION OF THE CRARYVILLE FIRE DISTRICT
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Annual Election of the Craryville Fire District will take place on December 14, 2021 between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. at the Craryville Fire House located on County Route 7, for the purpose of electing one (1) Commissioner for a five (5) year term, commencing on January 1, 2022 and ending December 31, 2027. All voters registered with the Columbia County Board of Elections on or before November 17, 2020 shall be eligible to vote.
Candidates for District Office shall have filed their names with the Secretary of the Craryville Fire District, no later than twenty days before the election, November 24, 2021.

HIGHWAY SUPERINTENDENT
The Town of Taghkanic is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Town Highway Superintendent. This is a highly responsible professional and managerial position with considerable independence in directing the Highway Department function of the Town of Taghkanic. A detailed job description and list of essential functions is available from the Town Clerk.
Interested applicants must submit each of the following: 1) A resume; 2) A letter of interest setting forth qualifications and experience. Application materials must clearly reflect experience managing employees, finances and maintenance of fleet vehicles. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Preliminary Budget of the Town of Taghkanic for the fiscal year beginning January 1, 2022, was presented to the Town Board by the CFO on September 9, 2021 and was filed in the office of the Town Clerk located at 483 County Route 15, Taghkanic, New York, where it is available for inspection by all interested persons during the regular hours of the Town Clerk.
The Town Board reviewed the Tentative Budget, made adjustments and approved it as the Preliminary Budget on Thursday September 30, 2021 at its Budget Workshop at 6:30 p.m. in Town Hall, located on Route 82, Taghkanic, New York. It has been filed in the office of the Town Clerk at 483 County Route 15 Taghkanic, New York where it will be available for inspection during regular office hours.

Notice is Hereby Given that the Proposed Budget of the Craryville Fire District, of the Towns of Claverack, Copake, Hillsdale, and Taghkanic, State of New York, will be presented to the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Craryville Fire District, for its consideration.
A Public Hearing will be held at 7:00 pm at the Craryville Fire House, 4210 Cty. Rt. 7, Craryville, New York, Town of Copake, State of New York, on the 19th day of October, 2021.
